And so we did. The Elbow Room Prize night and exhibition has been and gone. Revealing each piece of artwork and getting to curate the show was amazing. Introducing each winning entry from our poetry and prose categories and getting to listen to them live was a pleasure. Looking around the crowded gallery and listening to people as they exclaimed over the work was incredible.
The entire thing came together better than we could have ever dreamt… After a long day of hanging work, of watching hypnotised and Jinyong Park installed 1st Prize winner Daylight, of preparing drinks and setting up sound equipment the gallery was ready. This is always the moment when I suddenly panic that no one will come. But come you all did, filling The Gallery on the Corner with laughter and joy. You were the most incredible audience, listening so intently and responding so beautifully. The comments we got all night, so many of you thanking us for bringing the arts together for a night are a huge part of why we do what we do. Thank you all.
Congratulations once again to all our winners. We cannot wait to do the whole thing again next year.
