Submissions are now open for our annual UEA Special Edition...
Elbow Room is opening submissions for the third annual UEA Special Edition. Our literary and visual arts journal was founded in 2012 to celebrate art in all guises. With a series of live events and eight volumes so far, Elbow Room has included work by award-winning writers, artists and musicians. Elbow Room is produced in hand-bound pamphlets that are collected by The Poetry Library and The National Gallery of Scotland, and sold at bookshops and fairs across the country, including Foyles and bookartbookshop. Our published artists are also featured on our website: www.elbow-room.org.
In 2013 and 2014 Elbow Room has appeared at Turn the Page Artists’ Book Fair, hosted at The Forum in Norwich over the first weekend in May. We will be returning there this spring with our newest collection.
The UEA Special Edition has become a highlight of our calendar and has included work by current and recent graduates from the creative writing BA, MA and PhD, along with members of staff. We welcome submissions from across the disciplines, including poetry, short fiction, scripts and more… Illustrated works are also welcome.
We will be hosting our third event in Norwich over the weekend of the fair with live music and readings on the 30th of April from those writers included in the publication, hosted at the Bicycle Shop.
The deadline for submissions is Friday the 17th of April at 5pm. Please email your work to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will consider previously published work.
We look forward to reading your work.
