Cate Doyle’s current body of work is an etching based practice dealing with the subject of horizons. She pursues this through the investigating and utilisation of abstract marks, made and found. Inspired by the natural world and travels to remote places, her etchings represent the horizon in the traditional sense of a landscape. But more than a pictorial representation of a place, she is interested in evoking the feeling experienced whilst in these surroundings.
Through her work she endeavours to invoke a feeling of connection and a close relationship between the viewer and the landscape.
