With Just One Glance You
make me lose the feeling
of weightlessness I live
on a diet of complaint I spend
too much time placing bets
on a watch’s sunlight coining
new phrases on the wall: with one
glimpse your face skips inches
I am happy to be your pit and for
your friends to mud-wrestle in me always
an evening’s worth of entertainment
leaves me feeling grounded.
